For our first workshop in the series, our panel presented data on anti-Asian violence collected through Stop AAPI Hate, reviewed NY state laws relating to aggravated assault and hate crimes, and discussed reporting resources available through the NYC Commission on Human Rights.

De-Escalate & Defend: How to Protect Yourself Against Anti-Asian Violence during COVID-19

For our second workshop in the series, Flora Ferng from the NYC Commission on Human Rights & Grey Cohen from Pop Gym shared strategies (verbal and physical) to help protect against anti-Asian harassment and violence.

Mental Health Impacts of COVID-19

For our third workshop in the series, we invited mental health professionals in the Chinese American community to talk about how COVID-19 and anti-Asian harassment can impact our mental health. They also provided tips on how to mitigate and address mental health concerns for yourself and others.
